5 Top Red Carpet Fashion Trends for 2023
- June 28, 2023
Half-way through the year of 2023, and we've already witnessed a number of awards shows so far. From the Met Gala to the Academy Awards all the way to the Golden Globes, we have got the ultimate evening looks with our top Red Carpet fashion trends for 2023. The number one reason I really love award shows, is definitely the red carpet looks, especially if you have an upcoming event and you need some inspiration. So of you're anything like me and life for these types of events, here are my personal favorite trends from the red carpet this year.
1- Bridal, but make it evening!
We have been seeing more and more of this trend where celebrities rock a bridal look on the red carpet. Though it's not really recommended to wear a bridal dress as an evening dress, especially as a wedding guest, it's always a good inspo for your own wedding perhaps.
Numerous celebrities jumped onto the trend such as Michelle Yeoh, Eva Longoria, Ariana Debose and many more. However, the best dressed award for this category goes to Sofia Carson! The ex Disney Star wore an Aubrey Hepburn-inspired look with an off-the-shoulder white princess gown . The dress was designed by Giambattista Valli and featured an off-the-shoulder neckline with a triangle cut-out at the middle of the torso. It's designed with a draped silhouette which sculpted her curves and accentuated her hourglass figure.
2- Oversized Sleeves
Oversized styles are gaining more and more popularity, especially oversized sleeves. It's a subtle way of adding a glamorous touch to any simple look, which elevates it a give you the right amount of class. One of the top looks on the Golden Globes 2023 red carpet is none other than Selena Gomez. The Only Murders in the Building star chose an elegant strapless black Valentino gown with bold voluminous purple off-the-shoulder velvet sleeves.
3- Gloves
Next on the new red carpet trends is gloves, especially sleeve-gloves. I don't what what it is about gloves but they literally transform your look in an unexpected way. It'd a subtle yet elegant accessory that compliments any gown and adds a hint of regalness. Though we've seen several celebrities rocking the look, I have to give it to the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton. The stunning princess wore a simple white dress with an asymmetrical neckline and small designs on one shoulder. She paired it with black sleeve-gloves giving the right contrast for her look.
4- Pink Color!
Moving on to the most prominent color of the year, which is Pink! The flirty color was very present on the red carpet in all its different shades. From trumpet styles to plissé gowns, the rosy styles decorated the red carpets, but my personal favorite was Ariana Debose. The stunning beauty wore a vibrant fuchsia pant-suit the long flared pants and long blazer-jacket with a plunging V-neckline.
5- Satin
Satin is a popular fabric that is often used for evening dresses and wedding dresses as well. It's one the fabrics that does not go out of style no matter how often the trends change. This year's fashion looks are filled with this choice of fabric as it gives the right amount of class and glamor. Amanda Seyfried is among the A-list celebrities that went satin on the red carpet. The Mamma Mia star wore a shot sage green dress with a halter neckline and spaghetti straps. The dress was paired with side pockets for extra comfort and a long train for a touch of drama.
The award show season is only half-way through, so it is safe to say that we can expect so much more looks and trends! So if you're invested in these red carpet shows, stay tuned for the upcoming coverages!
