So, I’m a bride-to-be and looking for my wedding dress is the number-one priority on my to-do list! I know that most of you will understand when I say I’ve been visualizing my white dress ever since I was a little girl. Though it’s been on my mind even before I got engaged, finding that perfect wedding gown is a hard task. Trust me, you never know how picky you are until you go to your bridal appointment!
If there’s any bridal dress appointment tips I can give you is this:
- Do your research
- Start at least 6 months prior to your wedding date
- Trust you gut feeling
- Enjoy the ride!
With that being said, here are my top tips on how to be prepared wedding dress shopping at Esposa!
1- When to start looking for wedding dresses?
If you’re anything like me and you like to be prepared and ready, then starting your bridal shop appointment early-on is ideal. Before booking the appointment, I contacted Esposa Store as I’m looking for wedding dresses in Lebanon for rent. I asked them when was the right time to start my shopping and they recommended at least 6 months before the wedding. Given the fact that I’m a perfectionist and want everything to go smoothly, I booked my appointment that same week! Don’t judge me, I’m too excited!
2- Who to take with you on your appointment?
I decided to take my mom and best friend with me on my first appointment. Yes, I said first because I booked a second one 2 days later! It’s important to have someone you trust on your fitting, especially your mother. Going into a bridal shop is a new thing and can be stressful at times. However, make sure you trust your own gut feeling and take their comments with a grain of salt.
Walking through those doors into the luxurious boutique gives you instant chills and that bridal feeling! We were warmly welcomed by the floor coordinator who greeted us with a smile on her face. Moving on to the next step, my bridal consultant joined me and asked me a few questions then showed me the collection on the iPad. And here’s where things got overwhelming for me!

3- How to be ready for your appointment?
I can never stress this enough: Do your research. DO. YOUR. RESEARCH! There’s nothing worse than getting to your appointment and having to rely on your bridal consultant for everything! I would say this was the first mistake I made! I had seen so many wedding dresses to the point where I forgot to filter what I do and don’t like.
So first things first, go on Pinterest and create a wedding mood board. Include everything and anything you might consider useful and filter what styles you like. Choosing bridal gowns is not as easy as it may seem! You’re not looking for an evening dress that you can wear to any occasion, it’s a once in a lifetime thing! Browse through Esposa Group’s website and browse through the wedding dresses online. You might be surprise by how different your taste might be to what you originally thought!
4- What to bring to your bridal appointment?
Personally, I didn’t bring anything specific to my appointment as I didn’t know what to expect. I would say bring your shoes but you’ll definitely choose yours from Esposa as well. Just be ready and excited because this day will be an emotional rollercoaster! The most important thing as mentioned before is your mood board. You might decide to customize your own if you don’t find anything that reflects you. Aside from that, wearing something comfortable is a plus!
Some extra does’ and don’ts
- One of the most crucial things to remember is to step out of your comfort zone! I went in thinking I wanted a ball gown wedding dress and ended up liking a mermaid wedding dress! I thought I would love a lace wedding dress but found myself captivated by tulle and crepe!
- Book a VIP session, trust me! I booked a classic appointment which is a one-hour session which was not enough for me honestly. I had to book another appointment to continue my fitting at ease. When I mentioned that to my bridal consultant she suggested a VIP session which I’ll definitely book next time!
- Scour through the evening section for the mother of the bride dresses and bridesmaids’ dresses! At Esposa you’ll find wedding dresses for brides and evening dresses for guests.
- Don’t take pictures! As tempting as it is, you really don’t want to take pictures of the dress you said yes to. We all go through that stage where we like a picture at first but hate it the more we look at it. That’s exactly what will happen if you have a picture of your dress that you can see repeatedly.
Last but definitely not least, enjoy the ride! It’s not every day you get to wear that special white dress, so I say benefit from it. Don’t rush to say ‘Yes to the dress’ unless you get that feeling you hear about. Are you excited? Book your appointment now and let the most joyful journey commence!
